Boats, caravans and other mobile homes : Boats, vans or tents in a permanent location

You will receive a letter, either by hand from one of our census officers or in the post. The method depends on whether your standing or mooring is registered with Royal Mail or not.

In Wales, you will have the option to fill in a form in either English or Welsh. Please only fill in one form.

If registered with Royal Mail

We will send you a letter containing an access code to open your online census form.

If not registered with Royal Mail

If you live on a campsite or in a marina, a census officer will deliver your letter.

If you live on a permanent mooring, pitch or other location, we aim for a census officer to deliver forms to every household they can find.

However, if you haven't received a form by Sunday 21 March 2021, please contact us.

Do I have to fill in a census form here?

You should fill in a form here if you're a:

  • UK resident and live or plan to live at this location for six months or more
  • UK resident and have no usual residence elsewhere
  • non-UK resident and live or plan to live at this location for three months or more and have no other permanent UK address

What do I do next?

  1. Keep your questionnaire safe.
  2. Complete the paper form or use the access code to fill in an online form.
  3. Answer all the questions about your household.
  4. Put the completed paper form in the envelope and seal it.
  5. Post it or give it to the manager of your campsite or marina to post for you.

What do I put as my address?

If your accommodation has a registered address, please use it on your form.

If you're staying on the grounds of a premises, please use that address.

If your location has no registered address, please describe your whereabouts as best you can.

I need help to complete the form

If you have difficulty filling in the form, try to get a family member or friend to help you.

You can order a replacement code to be sent to you by text. This will allow you to access your online census form.
